Summer HVAC Checklist

With summer already here, that means the Florida heat and humidity is in full effect! To help ensure you and your family stay comfortable all summer long, you should give your system a thorough once over just to be sure you’re ready for the heat!

1. Test your system

Turn on your A/C system toensure it’s running properly. It should be able to lower the temperature of your home and maintain it without any hassle. If it is having issues either starting up or maintaining the temperature, that means it’s time to get the professionals involved.

2. Deep clean indoor A/C components

Preparing for summer means you might have to do some cleaning, but not as much as you may think. Clean in and around the indoor A/C components if you can, and it also goes a long way to clean the vents and ducts that you have access to. This will help get rid of dust and dander that has built up and help move cool air more easily through your home!

3. Declutter the outdoor A/C unit

Remove all the clutter and debris build up from around the unit. This buildup could block the vents which provide the unit with airflow and is critical to proper function.

4. Change your air filter

As we start to put the spring months behind us, now is the time to change that air filter which keeps clean air flowing through your home.

5. Schedule annual maintenance service

If you haven’t done so already, we highly recommend you have a professional come out and inspect your system. This will ensure that it’s running smooth, so you don’t have any uncomfortable outages this summer. Our certified HVAC technicians would be more than happy to help you out!
